Woodlands South Condominium Association is a beautiful, natural setting, located in the center of Northville Township, Michigan. The complex encompasses approximately 80 acres of land, complete with ponds as well as wooded areas where birds, rabbits, deer and other wild life abound. Paved trails border the grounds, cut through the pond and wooded areas and connect the community with Millenium Park on its western border, providing ample opportunity for walking and enjoying the outdoors.
Unlike most condominium communities, Woodlands South also has an abundance of grass, trees and bushes surrounding the buildings as well as generous driveways and sidewalks. The landscaping helps give the community the appearance of a single family subdivision, as does the design of the buildings. The one hundred and ninety-two units were designed as duplexes, with each duplex containing a ranch and a cape cod style home.
Additional nature areas, as well as recreational opportunities, are minutes away along Hines Drive or at Maybury State Park. So are two golf courses: Northville Hills and St. Johns.
Not one, but two, quaint, historic downtowns are close by: Northville and Plymouth, both offering shopping and entertainment. More serious mall shopping is readily available nearby at 12 Oaks or Laurel Park Place. Quick access to I-275 and M-14, also makes both Ann Arbor or Detroit conveniently available for additional shopping, cultural, or sports activities. Adjoining the community at the corner of 6 Mile and Sheldon is the Township Hall, which was completed in late 2004.
The first units were ready for occupancy in May of 2002; the last were ready in July of 2004. In October of 2003, the association changed hands from the developer, Pulte Homes, to the residents. Herriman and Associates assumed management of the community in September of 2004.
The Woodlands South Condominium Association is governed by a five person Board of Directors elected by the membership at the Annual Meeting held each October. The 2007-2008 Board of Directors consists of (President) Dawn Dekker, (Vice President) Dave Guyot, (Secretary) Phil Katz, (Treasurer) Bob Lipmyer, and (Member-at-large) Dave Pitcock.
